Indigenous Armenian Ancestral Sites Awareness Project

- There are thousands of indigenous Armenian sites spread all throughout the Armenian highlands. This project aims to bring awareness to sites which are associated with the indigenous ancestral people of the Armenian Highlands from the Neolithic era, Bronze Age, and the Iron Age.

 

What are these sites?

 

- From burial grounds to cyclopean fortresses, these sites link us, the indigenous Armenians, to our past. Our ancestors are the reason why we exist and the IAASAP strives to not only bring awareness to their sites but also to ensure that their legacy continues to live on. Many of these indigenous sites are subject to:

- grave robbing

- desecration 

- erasure

- historical falsification 

- loitering

- littering
